“Traumatology, orthopedics with MFS”

Traumatology and orthopedics as a medical specialty and as a subject of teaching in medical schools in Uzbekistan became possible after the organization in Tashkent Average Asian University and the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine in its composition.

Clinical Department, which was based on the exchange rate, has 60 beds and it satisfied the requirements of the pedagogical process, because the studies were only of medical students. Over the years the course of traumatology and orthopedics of its employees were executed numerous monographs, journal articles on various sections of the pathology of the musculoskeletal system. Originally based in the Department of Scientific Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics, and subsequently received on the basis of 14 city hospital 80 beds later in the casualty department of hospital emergency room 60 beds: from 1967 to 1971 trauma unit 6; 1971 to 1979 based on the medical unit 220 beds.

Before 1970, in the department teach the basics of traumatology and orthopedics, elected head of the field surgery. Most of the military surgery was taught at the Department of Hospital Surgery Medical Faculty, surgical diseases, pediatric and sanitation departments. In September, 1971y It was organized by the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics with a course of military surgery. Head of chair was elected Doctor of Medical Science M.H. Kariev.

From 1979 to 1981. Department located in a new complex of clinics Tashkent State Medical Institute, Head of the Department was E.V. Luzina. Chair possessed a clinical department with 120 beds: 60 trauma, orthopedic, 30 patients with burns, equipped with modern equipment and staffed by qualified personnel.

In the department of hospitalized patients with acute musculoskeletal injury – musculoskeletal system, the chest and abdominal cavity, brain, as well as for the rehabilitation treatment of complications after injuries and congenital diseases of the musculoskeletal system. In connection with the merger of the department with the research institute of traumatology and orthopedics, with 1981-1982 academic years the department is based in scientific center of Traumatology, Head. Director of the Department appointed prof. MD Dusmuratov. The department has clinical departments: acute trauma, neurotrauma, trauma, deformities of the upper and lower extremities, pathology of the hip and spine with a total of 340 beds. Honored Scientist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, MD, professor Sh.Sh. Khamraev defended his thesis on “Surgical treatment of Dupuytren’s contracture” in 1964 CITO them. Priorov Moscow. Since 2005, actively conducting scientific research the following:

  2. Developed and implemented a new method of surgical treatment and early rehabilitation of injuries of the elbow joint.
  3. Study of the problem of osteoporosis in the degenerative diseases of bones and joints.
  4. Developed and implemented a new method treatment and early rehabilitation of injuries of the knee.
  5. A new rod apparatus for the treatment of long bone fractures.
  6. Develop and implement new methods of treatment of injuries of the acetabulum.
  7. develop and implement new methods of treatment of patellar instability.
  8. develop and implement new methods of treatment of injuries and diseases of the shoulder girdle.

Under the leadership of MY Karimov, in 2012 he defended his thesis EB Guliamov on “The choice of methods of surgical treatment of chronic synovitis of the knee.” Prepared by 25 masters. Received 15 patents for new treatments for orthopedic and trauma patients, published more than 100 articles.

The present staff of the department consists of 2 doctor of medical sciences, 3 associate professors, 1 senior teachers and 5 assistants.
